The Redtail and Cardinal are carved at about 80% of lifesize.To make the piece even more dramatic,I placed a primary feather on the snowy base.This is a magnificant piece done in basswood and acrylics.One of my best carvings to date.The piece recently placed first in Birds of Prey in the Open Class at the 2007 Atlantic Wildlife Carving Competion .
